Microsoft beberapa waktu yang lalu telah merilis pembaruan terbaru untuk pengguna Windows 11 versi KB5007651. Ternyata mereka kembali merilis pembaruan ke versi yang sama karena telah memperbaiki salah satu kesalahan teknis, yaitu Microsoft Defender.
Setelah merilis pembaruan terbaru mereka, Microsoft ternyata mendapatkan kesalahan teknik yang mana merilis pembaruan dengan kesalahan di Microsoft Defender. Pengguna Windows 11 mendapatkan sebuah peringatan atas virus atau tindakan berbahaya, padahal hal tersebut tidak benar.
Ditelisik lebih jauh ternyata hal ini karena masalah Bug yang rusak di Defender atau sistem keamanan dari Microsoft. Pembaruan ini membuat Defender akhirnya dalam mode Disabled pada fitur Local Authority Protection.
Ternyata peringatan yang keliru ini telah lama hadir, di mana beberapa pengguna mengatakan bahwa peringatan ini hadir sejak bulan Maret atau Cummulative Update March 2023 kemarin.
A bug in Windows 11 KB5007651, which is the Windows Defender Security update, broke the ‘Windows Security’ interface. Subsequently, another update to the exact Windows Defender release disabled a ‘Local Security Authority Protection’ feature, causing users to receive false “Local Security protection is off. Your device may be vulnerable” alerts.
Windows 11 users noticed the bug after the March 2023 Patch Tuesday (cumulative update was released. Our tests showed that the Windows Security app’s Local Security Authority (LSA) protection warned users that it was turned off. It was enabled and working.
Akhirnya setelah mendapatkan banyak sekali laporan terkait, perusahaan merilis pembaruan perbaikan kembali untuk pengguna Windows 11 dengan versi KB5007651.

This has been a very messy situation for Windows 11, but it’s finally resolved in Microsoft Defender’s July 2023 update. A new version of KB5007651 (version 1.0.2306.10002) brings back Local Security Authority (LSA) protection toggle to Windows Security and fixes the false positive bugs.
