Intip Pembaruan Terakhir unjuk Windows 7 dan Windows 8.1

Microsoft memang telah rutin memberikan dukungan pembaruan yang mereka sebut sebagai Patch Tuesday, meskipun perilisannya di hai Selasa namun untuk pengguna khususnya di Indonesia biasanya akan menerima pembaruan ini dihari berikutnya, Rabu.

Microsoft kemarin sudah memberikan sebuah pengumuman bahwa mereka telah menghentikan dukungan untuk pengguna Windows 7 dan Windows 8.1, di mana sudah tak akan ada lagi dukungan pembaruan sistem keamanan atau bahkan Extended Security yang diberikan oleh perusahaan.

Kabar menariknya, Microsoft hari ini telah merilis pembaruan untuk Patch Tuesday yang mana menjadi dukungan terakhir untuk pengguna Windows 7 dan Windows 8.1, kedua pengguna sistem operasi ini mendapatkan dukungan terakhir mereka kemarin, Rabu 11 Januari 2023.

Nah bagi mereka yang menggunakan sistem operasi Windows 7, program yang diberikan oleh Microsoft sendiri ialah Extended Security Update yang mengubah Build menjadi KB5022338. Terlihat melalui Changelog yang diberikan oleh perusahaan, totalnya hanya ada dua perubahan pembaruan yang diberikan oleh Microsoft, diantaranya ialah sebagai berikut:

1. Authentication might fail after you set the higher 16 bits of the MSDS-SupportedEncryptionTypes attribute. This issue might occur if encryption types are not set or if the RC4 Encryption type is disabled on the domain.
2. Resolves a known issue that affects apps that use Microsoft Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) SQL Server Driver (sqlsrv32.dll) to connect to databases. The connection might fail. You might also receive an error in the app, or you might receive an error from the SQL Server.

Sedangkan untuk pengguna Windows 8.1 akan mengubah Build mereka manmade KB5022352, yang mana membawa beberapa perbaikan, sebagai berikut:

1. Authentication might fail after you set the higher 16 bits of the MSDS-SupportedEncryptionTypes attribute. This issue might occur if encryption types are not set or if the RC4 Encryption type is disabled on the domain.
2. Starting in this release, we are displaying a modal dialog box to remind users about the End of Support for Windows 8.1 in January 2023. This reminder does not appear on managed devices that run Windows 8.1 Pro or Windows 8.1 Enterprise.
3. Resolves a known issue that affects apps that use Microsoft Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) SQL Server Driver (sqlsrv32.dll) to connect to databases. The connection might fail. You might also receive an error in the app, or you might receive an error from the SQL Server.
